Most of us are anxiously awaiting the day that all email clients come with an "unsend" feature. Take, for instance, the British wedding planner who was disciplined for insulting a couple in an email... and accidentally sending it to them.
Pauline Bailey and Paul Carty were looking at venues for their reception and thought that their visit to five-star-hotel Stoke Park went well. Until they were mistakenly copied on an email from the hotel's wedding planner Michele Connelly to her manager, in which she suggested that they were not "the type of people that we would want at Stoke Park." (Paula believes it was because Paul has a piercing.) BBC News reports that the hotel has since apologized, disciplined Connelly, and invited the couple to consider having their wedding at Stoke Park anyhow.
During Thursday's chat, Hoda admitted that she made a similar mistake once: Long ago, when talking smack about a coworker via email, she accidentally included the colleague's address. Luckily, an IT expert intercepted the email, for which Hoda was eternally grateful.
We've all been there… Well, maybe not KLG, who says that avoiding these kinds of mishaps is just one of the many benefits of being too techno-phobic for email.
