TODAY's Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb discuss Lindsay Lohan's portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetimes' "Liz & Dick," with Kathie Lee saying that Lohan needs someone to "love her back to life" while Hoda tries to contain her laughter.
Sunday night brought the long-awaited premiere of "Liz & Dick," the Lifetime biopic starring Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor. Hoda and Kathie Lee were among those entranced by the spectacle, but were divided on Lilo's abilities as a fainter.
The ladies showed some clips from the film on Monday, and for Hoda, some of them went over like a ton of bricks. Specifically, there is a scene where Elizabeth Taylor, as portrayed by LiLo, is informed of Richard Burton's death and collapses.
This gave her the giggles.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she laughed. "I feel awful.... I'm sorry! It's a sad scene."
Kathie Lee kept her lips politely pursed while the crew joined in Hoda's mirth.
"She dropped like a bag of dirt!" Hoda insisted. "It was weird."
Kathie Lee refused to break, and instead gave Hoda a censorious look, to which Hoda responded by swigging some wine.
It's OK, Hoda. The rest of us were with you.
